Code of Conduct

We are dedicated to making all Cats’ Corner events a safe and comfortable experience for everyone, and therefore all event participants (including organizers, teachers, DJ:s, volunteers, etc) are expected to comply with this code of conduct.

We tolerate no harassment. Harassment includes offensive comments or behavior related to gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, or body size.

If you experience or witness an unpleasant situation during a Cats’ Corner event, please let a Cats’ Corner board member or an event volunteer know immediately. We take all forms of harassment very seriously and will take appropriate action.

On the dance floor

There are many reasons we love dancing – it is a very fun and social activity. However, it is also a very physical activity, and it is therefore very important to respect and honor personal boundaries.

  • When asking someone to dance, it is just that – an ask, and you need to be okay with a no.
  • Also, it is always a good idea to pay attention to non-verbal cues such as body language or facial expressions. If someone looks uncomfortable it is better to give them space; remember that it can sometimes be hard to say no.
  • When someone asks you for a dance, you are always allowed to say no.
  • If you plan to lead a dip, always ask your partner before the dance if they are okay with dips.
  • Acrobatics, lifts, and air steps are not allowed on the social dance floor. Only do these in jam circles and competitions.
  • If you want a second dance, ASK for a second dance! Let’s throw the old Swedish tradition out the window and dance for as many songs as we want to, be that 1 or 10 ❤
